Budget Savvy Shoppers Combine Night-out with Making Handmade Gifts

A Brighton craft company is encouraging shoppers  to skip the queues and credit card ‘hangovers’ and spend an evening with friends making homemade gifts instead for loved ones this Christmas.

Hard-Craft is hosting ‘Christmas Hamper’ craft classes throughout November and December at The Artist Residence Hotel to give budding crafters the opportunity to learn how to make everything from vintage-style crackers to luxury bath bombs and wrapping paper.

Class leader Kirsty says “It can be such fun making things for family and friends at Christmas. By making it a sociable event with a little festive music, nibbles and chatter we think we can combine a girly night out with some practical craft that will save customers money on expensive (and often unwanted) gifts! ”

Hard-Craft organiser Katie is no stranger to homemade gifts. “All our creations get tested on family and friends. My little boy enjoyed his glitter-laden bath bombs so much he used the whole packet at once – for days he was like a little disco ball shedding sparkles around the house! People love personalised homemade gifts and they don’t have to cost the earth once you know a few key tips and tricks”

The Artist Resident Hotel is located in central Brighton. Each class lasts for 2 hours and includes tea, coffee and biscuits or mince pies.

“A Night-Out With A Difference”

Previous participants have descried the craft classes as “A night out with a difference! From start to finish the class was fun, relaxed and informative. All the [bath] products we made looked so professional that when I showed my friends they were convinced I’d bought them” Ginette

“We had lots of fun. It really got me thinking in a creative way” Amandine

“It was both professional and exciting – it was wonderful to try our hand at so many different skills..I have been telling everyone about the class” Anne
